David Tockman (he/him)
Founder, Garden Designer & Consultant
David’s mom likes to tell everyone that he’s been a gardener since he was 3 — “working” alongside her in their family’s Long Island home garden. In the early 1990s, David moved to Brooklyn to tend to some roots of his own. In 2021, David left his law career behind to make his dream of playing in the dirt everyday his reality, acquiring a Certificate of Horticulture from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Since 2023, David has been a full-time garden creator and consultant, designing gardens for clients across Brooklyn. When he isn’t shopping for / reading about / tending to plants, he loves birdwatching and forest bathing with his partner, Wendy Jo, listening to music with his sons Oliver and Gabriel, reading the New Yorker, and watching football (the kind you do with your feet).
